5 Vegas Hot Spots To Visit While at IBS and KBIS

Trade shows are exhausting. Here are my favorite spots away from the strip that locals love for drinks and dinner.

Welcome to Vegas! Visiting Vegas for a trade show can be a mixed bag of work, fun, and frustration. I’m a local and only go to the strip for shows, a night out, or work. But there are plenty of great spots away from strip that are just a quick Uber ride away.

These are the places I always recommend to my friends who are visiting and want to experience something more than just the glitz and glamour and high prices on the strip.

  1. Izakaya Go

Spring Mountain road is the mecca of Asian food in Las Vegas and has a ton of Japanese, Vietnamese, Korean BBQ and more. Izakaya Go is close to the strip and serves light night small plates of tasty Japanese food from sushi to teppanyaki.

  2. Hobak Korean BBQ
There are plenty of good Korean BBQ spots to choose from, but we always return to Hobak for the vibe. It’s a large spot but it’s usually packed. The interior has a Seoul street food scene and the food is amazing!!!

  3. Atomic Liquors
This bar has been on the Fremont scene since the beginning. It’s got a great indoor and outdoor space and the drinks are fun and inventive. It’s very casual and is great for large groups.

  4. Good Pie
This pizza spot is on Main Street which has become a popular locals neighborhood with plenty of bars and restaurants. The scene here is great and the pizza is the best in Vegas. They have one salad and it’s awesome as well.

  5. Petit Boheme
A new bar from James Trees who is the pre-eminent restaurateur in Las Vegas. We went here for the first time last night and it was awesome. It’s tucked behind a new to open restaurant so it’s just off Main Street. The modern Parisian vibe was great, but it was still casual with plenty of fun drinks. Follow up with dinner at Esther’s Kitchen and you’ll go home happy.

I’ve got a lot more recommendations, but wanted to keep this list simple. Main Street has plenty of other bars and restaurants so if you take a cab down there you’ll find something.

You can venture further downtown towards, East Fremont Street (where Atomic Liquors is located) and find more local bars and restaurants and you can then explore the Fremont Street experience if you want something totally tacky very “Vegas”.

I’ve got more openings for meetups so I’d love to take a few minutes to chat with you about your marketing and strategy. Check my calendar and book it. We can do over the phone or in-person. Or if you want to meetup at one of these spots, let me know!

I’ll also be posting on Instagram from the show, so please connect with me @CharlesandHudson.

See you at the Builders’ Show! Vegas is going to be warm!!!
