Hi {{first_name | there}},

Somewhere in your market, right now, a homeowner is typing a question into ChatGPT or Google's AI Overview. Something like "who's a good general contractor near me" or "best kitchen remodeler in [city]."

The AI answers. It names two or three companies. The homeowner calls one of them.

You have no idea if you were on that list.

Most builders think about being found through Google search results and online reviews. That's still important, but it's not the same game anymore. AI tools aren't ranking pages the way a search engine does. They're pulling from a mix of things: how many reviews you have and how recent they are, how consistently your name shows up next to terms like your city or your specialty, and how clearly your business is described across the web.

A builder with 40 reviews from three years ago and a vague "we do everything" description can lose to a competitor with 15 recent reviews and a clearly stated specialty, even if the first builder has more total reviews. The AI isn't counting volume. It's reading for clarity and recency.

Here's what actually moves the needle

Update your Google Business Profile description to say exactly what you do and where. Not "quality craftsmanship since 1995." Something specific: "Kitchen and bathroom remodeling in [city] and surrounding areas."

Prioritize getting a handful of recent reviews over accumulating more old ones. A review from last month carries more weight than five from two years ago.

Make sure your specialty is stated the same way everywhere, your website, your Google profile, your social bios. If you call yourself a "custom home builder" in one place and a "design-build firm" in another, that inconsistency makes it harder for AI tools to confidently describe what you do.

This isn't a future problem. It's happening in your market this week, whether you're paying attention to it or not.

Hit reply and I’m happy to discuss if I can help.
