Hi {{first_name | there}},
I've been watching the online debate about whether content marketing still works now that AI can pump out unlimited blog posts. A lot of you are probably wondering a version of the same thing about your own marketing. If a competitor can generate a hundred blog posts a month with a chatbot, why bother writing your own project spotlights and FAQ pages?
Here's where I land after running content operations for almost two decades: the volume game was never really the game. It just felt that way for a while because Google rewarded frequency and nobody was paying close attention to who actually clicked through and stuck around.
That window is closing fast, and it's actually good news for builders who don't have the time or budget to publish daily anyway.
What this means for your business
You don't need more content. You need content that proves something a competitor can't fake. A finished kitchen remodel with real before and after photos beats a generic "top 10 kitchen trends" post every time, because AI can write the trends post in thirty seconds and it can't pour your concrete or hang your cabinets.
Your best marketing asset right now is probably already sitting in your phone.
Your best marketing asset right now is probably already sitting in your phone. Job site photos, homeowner texts, change order conversations, the stuff you're not thinking of as content at all. That's the material AI can't generate because it never happened to anyone else.
Stop trying to out publish anyone. A single well documented project with real photos and a homeowner quote will do more for your next bid than twenty AI generated blog posts nobody reads.
The takeaway
Publish less. Document more. The contractors who win the next few years won't be the ones posting daily. They'll be the ones who can prove, with real photos and real homeowner words, that they actually did the work.
Quick Poll
I got tapped to possibly speak at IBS 2027. I want to know if this is something you'd actually want to sit through, or read a recap of later if you can't make it? Your answer means a lot to me. Thank you!
Would you attend this session at IBS?
