Hey there,
Here's what I know about member retention:
Members don't leave because your advocacy is weak. They don't leave because networking isn't valuable. They leave because they can't point to monthly value.
When renewal time comes, they ask themselves: "What did I actually get from my dues this year?"
If the answer is "two conferences and some emails about legislation," that's hard to justify $600 to $1,000 dues when times are tight. I’m sure your HBA does so much more, but do members value you each month?
What if your members answered: "12 months of marketing guidance that helped me grow my business. Blog topics. Social media strategies. Email templates I actually used. Local SEO tips that got me leads."
That's worth renewing for.
The gap most associations have:
You provide excellent education and networking at conferences. NAHB provides a few courses. But between those moments, your members are on their own figuring out day-to-day marketing.
Next week, I'll show you how to fill that gap.
More to come next week,

Bonus: Last week I offered “25 Blog Topics Your Members Will Love — Designed to Help Them Generate Leads.”
If you missed it, no worries. Just reply YES and I’ll send it your way — no pitch, just useful content you can pass along to members.
