Hey there,
When was the last time a member said "Thank you, the association really helped my business this month"?
If you're like most HBA executive officers, that doesn't happen often enough. Members renew when they feel supported. They leave when they don't.
Here's what I see working: Give members something they can use every single month.
Not another event to attend. Not another designation to earn. Something immediately actionable that helps them make money.
Here are three blog topics your members can write THIS WEEK that can generate leads for months.
"5 Questions to Ask Before Hiring a homebuilder"
Benefit: Positions them as transparent. Homeowners trust this."What a [Your Town] Remodel Actually Costs in 2026"
Benefit: Gets local SEO traffic. Addresses the #1 question homeowners have."How We Handle [Common Problem] Differently"
Benefit: Differentiates them from competitors.
Each takes 30 minutes to write. Each generates leads for months.
Here's my point: Content marketing helps builders grow. But most don't know where to start.
If you could give your members monthly marketing guidance like this—topics, templates, strategies they can actually use—would that increase renewals?
I think it would.
More to come next week,
